What is most popular tourist attraction in Mongolia?

Mongolia is one of the least popular tourist destinations in the world and actually opened to the world just over 20 years ago after the soviet regime collapsed.  There are neither popular historic cities like Forbidden City or beach and resorts in Mongolia due to the geographically landlocked country between Russia and China, and for centuries even until today this is nomadic culture and life style dominated country.
There are around 300,000 tourist visited annually according to the national statistics but if it includes the business travelers it is nearly 500,000 visitors coming to Mongolia. Major travelers are from European Union, USA, Canada, Australia, Korea, Japan, Russia and China.
Their interests were based on wild life, natural background sightseeing, culture and tradition, religion, active vacation including horse riding, biking, hiking, and history. Most of the visitors planned a week or longer period to stay and travel.
What is most attractive thing in Mongolia? According to the survey from the State Bank of Mongolia 80% percent of the tourists were satisfied for their journey in Mongolia. 70% of the tourists were enjoyed experiencing and meeting the real life of nomads.
When we asked our clients last year about most liked part of the itinerary and tourists said the moment of spending a time with local people, who are sharing their nomadic culture was most remarkable. And next was the popular sites of Gobi desert, fresh water lakes and rivers and wide open green steppe without fence, also the hills and valley filled with white sheep and domestic animals in half wild rather traditional farming style.
The old man who was sheep herder for all his life can share his life long rich story and untold legends from ancestors, and share his wisdom about nomadic life, which is tied to the nature. Young people can show you how they gain their knowledge and obtain their education beside riding a horse and herding a sheep. The children will be playing with their “organic” toys of wood, stone and ankle bone called “shagai” besides modern toys.
One of our most popular destination is Gobi and almost 40% of our clients go there. When we asked our Switzerland tourist after traveling around the “Flaming Cliffs” – the paleontological zone, Vulture Canyon – the rocky mountain in the Gobi desert and “Khongor” Sand Dune with activities of riding a horse, two humped camel, staying in the Ger (yurt) he said “the most unforgettable moment was visiting the old man who lives in ger in the gobi desert and herding his camels and horses”.
Our goal is to satisfy our visitors to Mongolia and we always let them to have a moment of meeting locals and sharing the culture.

How many kids in one car?

In 1990's one of my memorable Lunar New Year holiday occured and I never forget the day. Traditioanlly we visited our oldest parent or grandparent than start visiting other relatives families. It usually takes at least 3 days and we still have more families to visit. Our aunts and uncles expect us to visit and when we arrive they steam dumplings and prepare big table. When the guest leave the host family gives gift to every one. Children and adults all get something. One problem was many families did not have cars. During the day we use public bus and walk on the street. Sometimes all my cousins and their parents walk together for 1-2 miles or 2-3 kilometers to next families. Big groups of people walking on the street. Kids are happy because they get lots of candies and cash as gift from every family they visit. One time one my uncle bought an old Russian car and he was only car owner among our relatives. After the last visit to one of our relatives it was late night and there...

Honesty and Business Ethics

In the business world we see often dishonest and unethical occurrences. Some people say "Sorry, nothing personal, it is just business" and trying to express it white lie. Is really business having to have a certain number of dishonest actions? When people want to explain it from different perspectives and own understandings it creates endless argument. If here is no ultimate guidance or center of the principles it will be always contention. That is why there is a law given. It is more like natural law of science. Elder Lynn G. Robbins said in the beginning of the world Adam and Eve did not have much to get tempted to sin. He was saying they had nobody to boast, gossip or complain about. Generally, pride comes from comparing oneself to others and try to seek to show off. According to my observation we don't have to necessarily to get better than others but try to keep up with Jones already brings us the bad side. Seeking materials is already leading us to sinful life...

Gratitude and Entrepreneurship

In the bible Jesus healed 10 men with lepers. The unhealable ill of that time till death. But he cured them all. They all went happily but only one returned to Jesus and fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thank. Jesus said where are other nine and he was disappointed. Why is gratitude important? Let’s think about it. Well could we reflect upon our lives as individuals. We will soon discover much to prompt our personal gratitude. Can we think about how grateful we are for our mother, father, teachers, and friends? All it starts from what they have done to your life. Thing of every detail and big and small things. Observe your feeling to come. How does it relate to entrepreneurship? The pursuit of opportunities is the essence of entrepreneurship. We define an opportunity as a future state that is both desirable and achievable. We also make a distinction among ideas, possibilities, and opportunities. The process of identifying and exploiting entrepreneurial opportun...
